摘要: Protaetia brevitarsis Lewis is highly efficient during resource-treatment process of spent mushroom substrate (SMS). During this process, their larvae are often infected with black spots, which usually pull down the larvae's treatment efficiency, and even destroy their bodies to death. Previous research suggested a correlation between phosphorus content and black spot formation. To investigates the relationship between phosphorus and the development of black spots in larvae, as well as the subsequent effects on feeding efficiency, various concentrations of L-O-phosphoserine and potassium phosphate monobasic were added to SMS respectively to feed the third-instar larvae of P. brevitarsis. The development of black spots was observed and recorded, including incidence, number, and size, and the feeding efficiency was assessed, as well as biological conversion rates. The result, the severity of black spot occurrence progressively becoming more serious with higher contents of phosphorus in P. brevitarsis larvae and the maximum severity was observed at the concentration of 0.296 g/kg in L-O-phosphoserine group, while the inorganic phosphate group reached its peak at 0.408 g/kg, revealed that the development of black spots is corelative with phosphorus. Moderate concentrations of L-O-phosphoserine (0.296 g/kg) and potassium phosphate monobasic (0.408 g/kg) can effectively enhance larval feeding efficiency, while higher dietary phosphorus concentrations may adversely affect larval feeding. In a word, the black spot is a special physiological reaction for the contents of phosphorus in P. brevitarsis larva stages. These results offer new insights into the potential of P. brevitarsis for biodegrading and reusing SMS, thereby transforming waste into eco-friendly resources, promising significant and lasting benefits for environmental sustainability.
