摘要： Social and economic development has been hindered by the accelerated global warming. There is an urgent need to implement effective adaptation strategies to reduce intensified climate risk. It is world-wide recognized that less adaptation actions relative to mitigation and underfinanced mechanism on adaptation leave world risky. Technology is a pivotal component of adaptation, playing a significant role in the implementation of adaptation strategies. A critical issue is that contemporary innovation in adaptation technology is inadequate to facilitate effective adaptation initiatives. The present special topic on Technological Innovation in the Context of Climate Change Adaptation aims to address the scientific challenges impeding the development of adaptation technologies and to establish a propitious environment conducive to fostering innovation in this domain.
