摘要: Sintering flue gas contains carbon monoxide (CO), a toxic gas that is harmful to both human health and the ecosystem. Therefore, restricting the release of CO is essential to the environment. In this study, calcium ferrate in reclaimed sintered ore was used to determine the potential of CO adsorption from simulated flue gas. To quantitatively explain the adsorption process, a predictive model for CO reduction was established using the Langmuir adsorption equation. The presence of adsorbed CO molecules was additionally verified through analysis of the surface morphology and surface area, functional groups, and crystalline structure of calcium ferrate by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and BET (Brunauer-Emmett-Teller) method, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The results provide significant insights into the reaction pathways as well as an enhancement in our comprehension of possible physicochemical changes during CO adsorption on calcium ferrate surface. Additionally, this study provides useful data for catalytic science and environmental protection by providing theoretical recommendations for developing and enhancing catalytic materials from recycled compounds for CO reduction. This research effort intends to promote the development of more effective adsorption materials and technologies to address essential environmental and energy issues through theoretical modeling and practical demonstrations.
