摘要: Maize and rice were domesticated from their wild progenitors independently. Whether their convergent phenotypic selection was driven by conserved molecular changes remains unclear. We discuss the implications of a recent genome-wide study of convergently selected maize and rice genes showing that maize KERNEL ROW NUMBER2 (KRN2) and its rice ortholog experienced convergent selection.
