摘要: Plant alpha diversity is influenced by biotic and abiotic factors under different environmental conditions. However, the overall importance of these factors and their interactions in determining plant alpha diversity remain unclear. Here, we evaluated the effects of biotic factors (including plant niche overlap of species (NOS), soil extracellular enzyme activity and soil microbial community composition) and abiotic factors (i.e., soil physicochemical properties) on plant alpha diversity across four habitat gradients (i.e., aquatic, wet, wet-mesic and mesic) on the Zoige Plateau. The results revealed that species richness significantly increased (P < 0.05), whereas the Pielou evenness index did not change (P > 0.05) from aquatic to mesic habitats. Soil particle size and available nutrients positively affected species richness, whereas soil pH and total nutrients negatively affected species richness (P < 0.05). The soil particle size, NOS, and fungal diversity positively affected the Pielou evenness index, whereas the bacterial diversity negatively affected the Pielou evenness index (P < 0.05). These results show that biotic and abiotic factors may play different roles in regulating different aspects of the species alpha diversity of plant communities in alpine regions, such as the Zoige Plateau.
